File Hash Checker
Calculate a file's SHA checksum and compare it with an expected hash.
Choose any file to calculate its checksum
Files are processed locally in your browser. Maximum file size: 100 MB. A matching hash confirms the same bytes as the expected checksum.
How to use the file hash checker
Choose a file up to 100 MB and calculate its SHA-256, SHA-384, or SHA-512 checksum. Paste an optional expected hexadecimal checksum to see whether the downloaded file has identical bytes.
Example
A text file containing exactly abc has SHA-256 ba7816bf8f01cfea414140de5dae2223b00361a396177a9cb410ff61f20015ad. Adding a newline changes the checksum.
Good to know
Get the expected checksum from a source you trust. A matching checksum alone does not establish who published a file or whether it is safe.
